Report

I am happy to report that the third CONSULEGIS Ski-trip was a huge success.
This year Arosa, a famous Ski-resort up in the Swiss Alps, was the venue, thereby completing a trio of Swiss resorts, members having previously visited Davos and Zermatt.
The event continues to grow in popularity. This year 19 persons congregated at the agreeable Sunstar Parkhotel between 5th and 10th February 2003, the flexibility of arrangements permitting members to participate for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days depending on their business committments.
The persons attending came from several countries:
Nikolaus Chizzali, Italy | Thomas and Heike Marx, Germany |

The event coincided with the heaviest snowfall in the Swiss Alps for over a decade, but notwithstanding the mixed weather conditions the group enjoyed excellent skiing.
A regular feature, besides skiing, is the toboggan run (Schlittenabfahrt) which provides thrills and spills. This year was no exception, the track being short, but steep!. This year saw the group also trying its hand at an Icestick-competition (Eisstockschiessen), a form of curling, fuelled by copious amounts of "Glühwein".
Another "first" was a slalom competition in which skiers of both sexes and all abilities took part. Winners were: fastest lady: Cornelia Schön, Germany, fastest gentleman: Christoph Mettler, Switzerland.

Arosa proved an extremely suitable venue, not only providing first-class skiing but also a wide range of interesting activities for the non-skiers in the party. I hope that more members of Consulegis will consider joining the party next year. It is an extremely convivial and relaxed occasion, which in the true spirit of Consulegis fosters contacts and friendship. You don’t need to be a good skier – or even ski at all!

Next year at the suggestion of Italian member Nikolaus Chizzali we propose visiting the Dolomites. Wolkenstein (Val Gardena) offers splendid downhill skiing as well as excellent cross country skiing (Langlauf). So you afficionados of winter sport, come and join us!
Subject to confirmation the dates for your diary are the 3rd to the 8th of February 2004.
