Dr. Josef Brandstätter founded the firm in 1963.
The Brandstätter law firm had its first offices on the Waltherplatz in Bozen.
Dr. Brandstätter originally concentrated on criminal law, but soon made a name for himself in business and banking law, working as a state-certified auditor and member of the supervisory board of several leading commercial companies.
From 1963, Dr. Josef Brandstätter was for 26 years chairman of the board of directors of Südtiroler Sparkasse AG.
Dr. Josef Brandstätter was closely involved in the running of the firm he founded until shortly before his death in 1998.
The coming of the second generation
In 1982, Dr. Gerhard Brandstätter, son of the founder, joined the firm.
During this time the firm increased its profile in the area of business and corporate law,
with a constantly increasing need for office space.
Dr. Gerhard Brandstätter has also passed the state auditors’ examination and serves on
the supervisory boards of several commercial companies in the region.
In 1990 the firm moved into Dr. Streiter Gasse, also very centrally located where, at first on two and now on three floors, 23 lawyers and trainees look after the affairs of the clients.
In 1998 the Brandstätter law firm became a partnership.
