A big success!

We are proud to inform members that nearly 200 persons, including guests and partners, attended our spring conference and AGM 2004 held at the Ritz Hotel in Barcelona (Spain), between April 29 and May 1, 2004. As usual, participants enjoyed a mix of business, cultural and social activities.The Annual General Meeting 2004 was held on Friday April 30, 2004. Following an introductory speech by the Chairman of the Board, Howard Palser, members received a report from the Managing Director, Dr. Roland Ermini, and thereafter duly approved the accounts as at December 2003, and the Budget for 2004.

Members by unanimous vote gave a formal discharge to Board and Management.Highlights of the plenary session were two presentations given by Alfonso Dastis Quecedo, Secretary General of European Affairs in Madrid, who spoke on the current state of the European Constitution and its relevance to lawyers, and Mrs. Monserrat Aguer Teixidor, Commissioner of the Dali Foundation, who presented an excellent overview of Dali’s work and life.Members of the Specialists Groups debated topics relating to „International Corporate and Tax“ chairman: Winnibald Moojen), „Intellectual Property, Entertainment Law and IT“ (Jeffery Daar), and „Business Generation“ (Michael Newman). Minutes and further details of the result of these discussions will be distributed under separate cover.Three business project were presented on Saturday morning, namely: „Consulegis Standard Agreement“ (Jeffery Daar and Dr. Jochen Grund), „Consulegis Collect“ (Dr. Thomas Voller), and „International Litigation and Arbitration“ (Dr. Eckart Brödermann,).The conference welcomed the following new members who were admitted in the course of 2004:

The social program included the traditional Welcome cocktail party jointly hosted by Dr. Frühbeck Abogados y Economistas and Ribalta Abogados, a choice the following night of dinner accompanied by either Jazz or traditional Spanish Flamenco, city tours, and – of course – the gala dinner at the Ritz Hotel.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to meet old friends and for making new acquaintances.

We thank the hosts and in particular Mrs. Astrid Dorfmeister and Mrs. Mayte Cruz Ventura for their hospitality and for their very cordial reception of guests from over 40 countries.
