Dr. Derk Siebert was born in Hamburg in 1966 and was admitted to the bar in 1997. After completing his studies in law at the Universities of Hamburg, Freiburg and Münster, he completed his doctoral thesis on a European Law topic at the Westphälische Wilhelms-University Münster and received his doctorate. This was followed by a legal clerkship in Hamburg and Miami (USA). He speaks English and also had various lectureships at the School for Economics and Politics at the University of Hamburg. Since being admitted to the bar, he worked for two renowned Hamburg law firms and served as a judge in Hamburg from 2000 until 2003. Dr. Siebert also is a certified specialist lawyer for construction and architecture law.
In 2013 Dr. Derk Siebert became a partner at the Hamburg law firm of MARX Rechtsanwälte. This firm was founded in 1973 and offers a full range of legal services in all fields of business law for SMEs in particular, but also for various financial institutions and listed companies. Emphasis is placed on maintaining a direct line of communication to the firm's clients and high-quality counseling coupled with fast and flexible handling of assignments. MARX Rechtsanwälte are founding members of the international association of law firms CONSULEGIS EWIV with approximately 1,700 professionals in 42 countries.
In addition to general issues regarding trade and business as well as corporate law, Dr. Siebert also focuses on real estate as well as construction and architecture law. He advises various project developers and general contractors, several mid-sized companies active in over-ground and plant construction, architectural and engineering firms operating nationwide as well as various foundations. Dr. Siebert is member of the working group for construction law of the German Attorneys Association (Deutscher Anwaltsverein e.V.) as well as the German the German Society for Construction Law (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Baurecht e.V.) and works as a mediator and arbitrator for issues according to SOBau. He is a member of the Attorneys Association of Hamburg (Hamburger Anwaltsverein) and the German Attorneys Association (Deutscher Anwaltsverein e.V.).
