The CONSULEGIS network is open to law firms and related professional advisors with an interest in international business relations. CONSULEGIS neither offers nor requires exclusivity. CONSULEGIS firms are independent, and generally, but not exclusively of medium size relative to the country or jurisdiction in which they are based. They are admitted on the basis of proven reputation, integrity and, independence. In particular they are expected to fulfil the following criteria:
Membership Criteria:
1. Members are admitted on the basis of their proven reputation, independence, the resources they possess, and the perceived value their membership will bring to the association. In all cases the decision to admit or reject an applicant for membership is in the absolute discretion of the Advisory Board.
2. Fundamental attributes of membership are mutual trust and friendship and members commit to the principles of honesty and integrity in all their professional dealings.
3. Members are generally medium-sized firms (in the context of the country / jurisdiction in which they are situated). This does not preclude the admission of sole practitioners, boutique firms and large practices according to the objectives of CONSULEGIS in establishing comprehensive global coverage.
4. Members understand that CONSULEGIS neither offers nor requires exclusivity.
5. Member firms should be independent and commercially orientated, and interested in undertaking and developing cross-border business in conjunction with fellow members.
6. Members appreciate the benefit of networking and agree to participate actively in the affairs of the network, particularly by attending each year at least one of the organisation’s bi-annual international conferences.
7. Member firms should observe modern business practice, should offer continuing education and training to employees, should be proficient in English and possess the means to communicate efficiently by e-mail and other modern communications media.
8. Members agree to respond rapidly to enquiries and instructions from other members, to perform professional services competently and efficiently and to discharge all financial obligations promptly.
These criteria are binding on all members.
